Aaaaahhhhhh.....peace and relaxation. That is how I would describe last weekend. Josh is on a business trip in San Diego for a little while. I was able to escape North Carolina and join him last weekend. It was a pretty quick trip for me...48 hours in CA. Oh well, we had so much fun and good quality time together as husband and wife that I would have flown across the country for 2 hours with my husband. I love the way the coast is so different from NC coast. Directly across the street from our hotel is the ocean. You can't really tell in this picture of Josh but he is sitting on top of a cliff that is above the ocean. My first morning there I walked across the street and checked out the view. There were between 30-40 surfers in the water swimming very closely to some dolphin. It was so awesome!! I stood on the cliff and took it all in. In North Carolina, the coast is beautiful but it is really flat - no cliffs. It was fun to see the difference.

I Love San Diego!
Shadow fun!!!
California Coast!!!
While in San Diego, we got to spend time with our dear friends, Addie and Kevin. We visited the San Diego Temple. It is so beautiful!!!
Yep, quick trip but so worth it!!! I would do the long flight, 3 hour time change, overnight flying and daylight savings in the air ALL OVER again!!!! :)
I love my husband and cherish every moment we spend together. We have fun with the kids but it is really fun to just be able to focus on each other once in a while.
Thanks so much to Mom and Dad, Carla and Kathy for helping with our kids!! They had fun with you too!!!

Happy Birthday to Madison
Okay, I am a little late with getting to Madison's birthday. It was officially Feb. 23rd.
I can't believe my "Maddy Cakes" is 7 years old!! It seems like just yesterday the nurses brought her to us in the hospital with DARLING little bows in her hair after her first bath. She was so chubby and precious with all her dark hair. And her big sister Jamie just adored her so much. In fact, Jamie told me, "Mom, you have Dad and now I have Madison." They have been good friends ever since.
7 Things We LOVE about Madison....
1. She always wants to help and please others.
2. She says funny things, "Are you telling me Blake was hatched from an egg?"...long story
3. She is simple....same hairstyle, shoes, style of clothes, jewelry, etc. EVERYDAY. (I hope it is like that when she is a teenager!)
4. She has her own sense of style. She is who she is...
5. She is sensitive to others. (She cried her eyes out when Jason was rejected on the Bachelorette last summer.)
6. She is absolutely beautiful.
7. She always tries to Choose The Right.
Madison you are a very special girl and Daddy and I love you so much! We are glad you are ours for eternity!!!
